Hike is 5 mi. along an old levee with the Ocklawaha River on one side and a marsh on the other. At the turnaround is a viewing platform built on the riverbank. Wear a hat, comfortable shoes, rain gear and bring plenty of water. Spray for chiggers in case the grass is long. Bring binoculars to look for birds and the occasional alligator along the way. There is a portapotti at the trailhead, but no other restroom facilities during the hike and really few trees or brush along the entire hike.&nb
