In North Florida, the rolling terrain is noticable underfoot as you wind through vast open forests of longleaf pine and wiregrass, up and over ancient sand dunes topped with bright white sand beneath small scrub plants, and up and around steephead ravines that form the source of surface streams. Lakes and ponds are a part of the undulating landscape. Along the waterways, you'll find lush palm-shaded hammocks and tall, ancient cypresses, or steep bluffs cut with deep ravines where tributaries drop through to rivers below, sometimes as waterfalls.
