 From chainsaw certification to safety refreshers, all of our training courses are provided at no cost for FTA members and our land management partners. Non-members will be accommodated on a “space available” basis. We also try to find a nearby location offering free camping, but cannot always provide that resource.
While the courses are free to our members, you MUST sign up in advance, as most courses have a limited capacity. Certification trainings generally have only 10-12 available slots, so sign up early. Non-certification workshops generally can accommodate up to 30 people. To sign up, simply send an email at dblick@floridatrail.org or call 1-877-HIKE-FLA.
A current First Aid and CPR class is a prerequisite for all sawyer certification courses. Due to budget cuts this year FTA will not be able to reimburse members for the cost of their First Aid and CPR training, nor will we be able to provide trainees with sawyer patches and pins. |
