Working together in the Apalachicola National ForestPartnerships: The Cornerstone of the Florida Trail
The Florida Trail is the end product of a partnership between local, state, and federal agencies; private landowners; and the volunteers of the Florida Trail Association, who build and maintain the trail on lands managed by our partners.

Since 1988, the USDA Forest Service and the Florida Trail Association have entered into cooperative trail management agreements with several dozen private and public land managers. These agreements certify that trail segments meet minimum standards, are open to the public, are protected, and provide the public with quality recreational opportunities. It takes the generosity of public-spirited land managers to ensure that Florida's own National Scenic Trail becomes an unbroken wilderness corridor the length of the Sunshine State.
