Each year in February, as part of the "Hike the Hill" effort coordinated by the American Hiking Society, the Florida Trail Association sends a group of staff and key volunteers to meet with our Florida legislators on Capitol Hill to remind them of the importance of Florida's own National Scenic Trail to the Florida economy and to the public.
In conjunction with this effort, the staff assembles statistics and reports to compile a special book, which is customized for each member of the Florida delegation to the United States Congress. The advocacy team utilizes the book to explain FTA's achievements and to make the request for additional funding. Browse through these documents and take a look at the effort that is put forth to keep the Florida Trail foremost in Florida legislators' minds when it comes time to decide on funding.
