Jupiter Completes the ECT!

James “Jupiter” Hoher recently hiked the Eastern Continental Trail (ECT)!

The ECT is a combination of North American long-distance hiking trails, from Key West, Florida to Cap Gaspe, Quebec – a distance of 4,800+ miles.

The trail utilizes the Florida Trail and the Appalachian Trail, and is connected by a series of shorter trails and road-walks.

A thru-hike on this system of trails requires almost a year to complete. However, Jupiter completed this hike in only six and a half months – an incredible feat of physical and mental prowess!

Jupiter started his hike on July 6, 2016 in Cap Gaspe, Quebec and ended on January 21, 2017 in Key West, Florida.

The entire journey took 205 days, covered 4,800+ miles, crossed 16 U.S. states and featured hikes of up to 60 miles a day.
