The 2025 Ididahike will be held on the Cross Florida Greenways on March 1st 2025. Check in table will be at the Ross Prairie Trailhead and Campground. Hikers will be shuttled to the Landbridge Trailhead and hike to Ross Prairie for the (entire distance) 10.7 mile.
For those looking for a shorter distances, hikers can hike six miles from 49th Street Trailhead to Ross Prairie and a 3.7 mile hike from Shangrila Campground to Ross Prairie Trailhead and Campground.
The FSNT traverse through grounds that were once planned to be the Cross Florida Barge Canal. Diggings from over 60 years ago left terrain that has many elevation changes and creates some moderate hiking. New growth forests allow for a shaded hike.
For those looking for additional activities before and after the Ididahike, the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway has a 16 mile paved bicycle trail from the Santos Trailhead to the Ross Prairie Trailhead. Hikers can also, at their ease or pleasure, hike on the many trails in the Marjorie Harris Cross Florida Greenway.
Kayakers can travel just a few miles south of the Ross Prairie Campground to the Withlacoochee River or can travel West to Dunnellon to kayak on the beautiful Rainbow River which is fed by its 1st Magnitude spring.
Those that may want to take a day after hiking to horseback ride can also try out Cactus Jacks at the Landbridge trailhead of the Marjorie Carr Cross Florida Greenway.

Campgrounds and RV sites-
For those camping or using an RV, Florida State Parks allow Florida Residents to reserve 11 months in advance. Due to heavy demand it is suggested you reserve at the Florida State Parks online Reservation system when first available date which would be March 29, 2024

This year there will be food and beverage available on the day of the event from an assortment of Food Trucks. Snacks will be provided to hikers at various trail locations during the hike.
