Florida National Forests Close For Hurricane Irma
All 3 National Forests in Florida have issued closure notices effective 5PM on Friday, September 8, 2017.
This means that there is no legal public access to the Ocala, Osceola or Appalachicola National Forests until the Closure Order has been lifted. Accessing the Florida Trail or any other area of these national forests is subject to legal action by federal law enforcement officers.
Please be patient as Forest managers work to prepare the Forests for public access.
Thanks especially to our vigilant trail maintainers, eager to assess trail damage, who will be waiting for this ban to be lifted.
