Florida Trail Activities in Your Area

Check out our chapter websites and Meetup groups for activities in your area. Visit the Chapters page, scroll down to the bottom and look for your county. Click on the chapter for a county to go to its web page. Florida Trail Association activities include day hikes, backpacking trips, canoeing and kayaking, bicycling, picnics, and campouts. Day hikes may focus on birding, plant identification, geocaching or historic sites. Most activities are held locally, but some chapters travel to other parts of the state or out of state for extended trips. However you like to enjoy the great outdoors, there's a Florida Trail activity for you!

SIGN REQUISITION FORMS
Standard Signs | Custom Routed Signs

All section leaders may request standard signs for their section of trail or may order custom routed signs. Each routed sign is made from cedar, which is naturally insect- and rot-resistant and less expensive than redwood or cypress. Your feedback on the weathering of these new (as of Fall 2004) routed signs are appreciated. Routed signs will be created using 2 x 6 and 2 x 12 dimensional lumber. Letter height will be 1.5 or 2.5 inches, depending on space. The letters will be filled in with white paint, according to the FTA Sign Plan.

Standard Signs


Plastic FNST sign used on certified Florida National Scenic Trail segments. 17-3/4" tall.	Standard metal FT sign, used on any trail segment of the Florida Trail system (including loop & side trails). 12" diamond	Florida Trail "Foot Traffic Only" 8"diamond, appropriate for marking any footpath-only trail segment.
