Florida Trail Activities in Your Area

Side By Side
Check out our chapter websites and Meetup groups for activities in your area.  Visit the Chapters page, scroll down to the bottom and look for your county.  Click on the chapter for a county to go to its web page.  Florida Trail Association activities include day hikes, backpacking trips, canoeing and kayaking, bicycling, picnics, and campouts.  Day hikes may focus on birding, plant identification, geocaching or historic sites.  Most activities are held locally, but some chapters travel to other parts of the state or out of state for extended trips.  However you like to enjoy the great outdoors, there's a Florida Trail activity for you!

Deb BlickDeb Blick is the only staff member who has traveled the entire length of the Florida Trail - much of it many times. By foot, bicycle, and truck she was the first to GPS the entire trail and between 1998 and 2011 was responsible for the production of FTA's hiker maps and Data Book.  Since the summer of 2011 Deb has switched over to the development and coordination of training programs for our trail volunteers - from chain saw certification to GPS field usage to Activity Leader Training.  Deb also fields most of the hiker questions that come into the FTA office.

Deb has been an avid hiker and camper since her first Brownie campout at age 6.  She completed over half of the AT in 1998 and is also a dedicated kayak tourer.  When not working for FTA or out on a Florida river she can be found engaged in some form of training with her 3 dogs - Tracking, Water Rescue Dog, Traildog or K9 Nosework.
