Check out our chapter websites and Meetup groups for activities in your area.  Visit the Chapters page, scroll down to the bottom and look for your county.  Click on the chapter for a county to go to its web page.  Florida Trail Association activities include day hikes, backpacking trips, canoeing and kayaking, bicycling, picnics, and campouts.  Day hikes may focus on birding, plant identification, geocaching or historic sites.  Most activities are held locally, but some chapters travel to other parts of the state or out of state for extended trips.  However you like to enjoy the great outdoors, there's a Florida Trail activity for you!

Florida State Parks have more than 1600 miles of trails, 100 miles of white sandy beaches, over 600 springs, archaeological, historic and recreational resources that are unsurpassed in the Southeast. As the nation’s first two-time winner of the Gold Medal Award, Florida State Parks are recognized world wide as the Best in the Nation.

 


CCC-era cabin at Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park These scenic parks provide the perfect setting for a wide range of healthy outdoor activities, from trails for hiking, biking and skating to waterways for canoeing, kayaking and swimming. Equestrians will find overnight camping and paddock accommodations for horseback excursions at 20 state park locations throughout Florida.

Florida State Parks are open from 8:00am to sunset daily. Museums, visitor centes and historic sites are closed two days a week and hours may vary. Visitors will want to call ahead to the park of their choice to check on openings and closings. Park entrance fees range from $3.00 - $5.00 per vehicle for up to eight occupants. Camping fees range from $12 - $38 and cabin reservations may be made through www.ReserveAmerica.com
