Check out our chapter websites and Meetup groups for activities in your area.  Visit the Chapters page, scroll down to the bottom and look for your county.  Click on the chapter for a county to go to its web page.  Florida Trail Association activities include day hikes, backpacking trips, canoeing and kayaking, bicycling, picnics, and campouts.  Day hikes may focus on birding, plant identification, geocaching or historic sites.  Most activities are held locally, but some chapters travel to other parts of the state or out of state for extended trips.  However you like to enjoy the great outdoors, there's a Florida Trail activity for you!

Length:  2, 2.5 and 7.6 mile loops

Adjacent to the small town of Holopaw in Osceola County, the 15,391-acre Triple N Ranch Wildlife Management Area is an excellent example of fast-disappearing native range and pine-palmetto flatwoods scattered with wet and dry prairie, cypress domes, oak hammocks, and oak scrub.

Overview

 

Hiking the loop (Susan Young)Scenic Crabgrass Creek, a tributary of the St. Johns River, snakes across the Triple N Ranch Wildlife Management Area. A network of well-maintained and marked roads provides ample opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, biking, and horseback riding. A blue blazed spur trail leads to a picnic area off the orange blazed trail.

C5 Triple NTriple N Ranch Wildlife Management Area is located on US 192 near Holopaw, 17 miles east of St Cloud and 25 miles west of Melbourne. The entrance is on the south side of US 192, 3 miles east of the US 192 and US 441 intersection. Hikers should register upon entering and exiting the property.

Parking area with kiosk is 0.2 mile from US 192.

Well-marked roads through wet and dry prairies.   

Precautions

Be alert for cyclists and equestrians who share the trails.

  

Restrictions

 No camping is allowed and hiking is not permitted during special opportunity hunts.
