Description

Effective at noon on November 2, 2009 Loop Road will be closed between Gator Hook Strand and the Loop Road Education Center.  This includes the southern terminus of the Florida National Scenic Trail.  The closure is necessary to make repairs to the gravel roadway.  Repairs are expected to be completed by the summer of 2010.

As a result, the official southern terminus for the Florida Trail in 2009 will be US 41 at the Oasis VIsitor Center.
