Length: 6.1 mile loop Orlando Wetlands Park is about 20 miles east of Orlando, in the town of Christmas. Access the Park via CR 420 and Wheeler Road. The Park is CLOSED October 1 through January 20. Using Wheeler Rd, hikers can also access the trail in Seminole State Forest.
The 6.1-mile loop uses the white-blazed hiking trail, the orange-blazed Florida Trail and the southern berm. In addition to the hiking trail and the Florida Trail around the perimeter, the park features 18 miles of raised berms that are open to hiking and bicycles. Orlando Wetlands Park is about 20 miles east of Orlando, north of SR 50 in the town of Christmas. Access the Park via CR 420 and Wheeler Road. A restroom, picnic area and interpretive display is at the parking area. Using Wheeler Rd, hikers can also access the trail in Seminole Ranch Conservation Area. Centerline data Florida Trail System (c) 2007 Florida Trail Association, Inc. A parking area on the south side of Wheeler Rd is open overnight. The park is operated and managed by the City of Orlando and is open from 7:30 am to sunset. Orlando Wetlands Park is CLOSED October 1 through January 20 but Florida Trail thru-hikers are permitted to walk the Florida Trail around the perimeter during that period. Wear blaze orange if you do. The campsites in the park are by reservations for organized groups only. |
