SRC Weekend Schedule 2017

Hosted by Tropical Trekkers

October 13 – 15, 2017!!

Where: Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation, Gulfstream Council Boy Scouts of America

Tequesta, FL

Theme:  Kissimmee River Restoration and the FNST

From the headwaters of the Kissimmee River, south into Everglades, west to the

Gulf and east to the Atlantic, the river effects the FNST and everything

surrounding it.

DON’T BE SHY, come and join your fellow FTA companions who live and volunteer in the south region of the state. We will begin Friday with a social hour before a pot luck supper, followed by stargazing near the Loxahatchee River. On Saturday we have an excellent list of speakers who have different relationships with the Kissimmee, where it’s been, where it’s going, and how it influences so many issues. We have opportunity to hike 5.4 miles through a sampling of nearly every kind of topographical features common to South Florida. (this trail is not available to the public) and storytelling by 2 women who grew up in South Florida with tales to tell around a campfire – Yes, we’ll have S’mores too!
